El Morro Arts Council
The Executive Director is the organization’s only paid staff member and oversees the council’s operation of the Old Pass Gallery; six annual festivals; monthly arts and crafts workshops; quarterly concerts, plays, speakers, and dancers; youth programs such as student art shows and writing contests; and marketing through newsletters and websites. Without the programs and services of the council, the local population would have to travel at least 50 miles to attend or participate in an arts event.
The El Morro Area Arts Council serves a wide area including the Ramah Navajo Reservation, Zuni Pueblo, the unincorporated town of Ramah, and the greater area around El Morro National Monument.
