New
Mexico Art's New Public Art Collection needs homes
This is a statewide
notice to inform everyone of the 2004 new acquisitions to the permanent
collection of artwork acquired through the Acclaimed Artist Series by
the Art in Public Places Program at New Mexico Arts. We have added to
our collection some works by several Acclaimed Artists.
The artworks included
are two-dimensional works by Clay Wagstaff, Kate Breakey, Ricardo Mazal,
David Lynn and Bhakti Ziek.
Three-dimensional
works purchased include interior sculptures by Tom Joyce and Munson
Hunt.
The artwork is on
loan for a period of five years and then will be moved to another venue.
Each site may chose between one and three artworks. Sites that wish
to house the artwork must comply with the following:
1. The site must
enter into a loan agreement with New Mexico Arts, a division of the
Department of Cultural Affairs.
2. The site must
properly maintain and be responsible for any damage that may occur to
the artwork for the duration of the time it is in their custody.
3. The artwork must
be placed in a publicly accessible location at the site-no offices or
meeting rooms.
4. The site must
insure the artwork on loan for the purchase amount.
If your site is
interested in housing some of the artwork, please contact New Mexico
Arts, Art in Public Places Program at 800-879-4278 (in-state) or 827-6490
in the Santa Fe area, email AIPP@oca.state.nm.us
We look forward
to working with you to share New Mexico's rich artistic heritage.
